Come and experience our fab new-look beer garden
Closing down during the coronavirus outbreak gave us the perfect excuse to revamp our car park, transforming it into a welcoming beer garden.
Firstly, we have built a lovely large wooden pergola, complete with attractive lighting and bordered with a raised bed.
Secondly, and rather inspiringly, we have closed the car park to cars and added loads more tables and seating instead.
The result is a large social space which has gone down well with all our regulars and new visitors.
We’re really pleased to see the rear of the pub come alive like this. When the sun is out, the atmosphere in the garden is now brilliant.
Of course, you can still sit inside if you like, although some tables have been removed for social distancing reasons.
Strict service points remain at the bar, and we continue to ask you to sign in on arrival.
Meanwhile, we are also now using our new, larger kitchen. No longer are the chefs squashed into a small space behind the hatch in the main bar. Now they have a really spacious and modern kitchen at the rear of the building.
We are serving our full menus and specials, and look forward to welcoming you soon.
Many are asking if we plan to bring cars back to the rear any time soon. The answer currently is no (although we will review when the weather turns)! There is plenty of street parking in Anglesea Road after 6pm. The Crown Street/Charles Street car park is only a few minutes’ walk away.
If you want to try the new-look rear garden, why not come in or book a table? You can do so by messaging our Facebook page or calling the pub on 01473 252862.
