Introducing the Paul Lambembert Burger

The Paul Lambembert Burger, a delicious lamb patty topped with lashings of melting camembert cheese, will debut at the busy Henley Road pub at lunchtime on Saturday, ahead of the Preston match.
The Greyhound’s previous match-day special, the Paul Hurst Curry Wurst, was hastily removed from the menu last week.
The Paul Lamembert Burger is sure to find similar success to the first few years of the Big Mick Burger (before it, too, was removed after thoroughly outstaying its welcome).
After Ipswich sacked Paul Hurst with the club languishing at the bottom of the league, the speculation about what would become the new Greyhound special was more intense than who would become the new manager.
Once Lambert, a former Norwich City boss who now gets to experience life at East Anglia’s biggest club, was unveiled by Ipswich, competition to guess the new match-day special reached fever pitch.
Customers, staff, social media experts – everyone had their say. But while some of their suggestions were good, the suggested meals would not work as a pub lunch before football.
In the end, dashing Greyhound chef Liam and landlord Dan created the Paul Lambembert Burger, and it’s set to be the pub’s most popular football dish ever.
The succulent lamb and herb burger comes with dollops of oozing camembert cheese, rocket and cranberry and a portion of chips. It will be on the board on Saturday for £10.
After testing the new dish, landlord Dan Lightfoot exclaimed: “Like Paul Lambert, the burger we have created in his name is a winner.
“We’re hoping Mr Lambert is a success at Portman Road and remains in the hot-seat for years to come because we’re running out of options for new dishes.”
Mr Lambert took time out from his busy schedule (trying to get the squad to pass to each other) to pose with our new dish at the club’s training ground.
His first match against Preston is massive, with Ipswich desperate to secure three points to begin their escape from the jaws of relegation.
